Change
I was invited to create a site-specific installation on the only strip of grass on top of Queen Anne Ave, which happened to be in front of a church, adjacent to a long line of commercial and local businesses. The theme was to be about racial reconciliation, which I embraced. The resulting forms and imagery all pointed to root causes, inequity, humility and change of perspective. While working on the piece (2 week process), an African American male came into the space and said, “it’s about time.” I fully agreed.
