Beginning in 1976, I began experimenting with small disks with a pivot point underneath, raising one side off the ground. As one stood on the piece, it would rotate and your body would compensate to stay upright in space. In this piece, I experimented with weight density, with concrete on one side and plywood on the other. There was a marked difference in resistance depending upon which side you put your weight on. A biped became a monoped.
